Our client has an opening in their Department of Anaesthesiology that is recognised for excellence in paediatric care, training, and research. We’re looking for a dedicated Paediatric Anaesthesiology Medical Specialist to join this world-class department and deliver child- and family-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe, evidence-based anaesthesia for paediatric and neonatal patients (general, ENT, neuro, cardiac, urology, emergencies, sedation, pain management).
• Manage perioperative and post-anaesthesia care with PICU, NICU, and surgical teams.
• Join our after-hours on-call roster – where urgency meets impact.
• Supervise, mentor, and teach registrars and nursing staff.
• Drive academic growth – teaching, workshops, and simulation training.
• Contribute to research, audits, and publications that shape paediatric anaesthesia.
• Collaborate with surgical and allied health teams to expand services and innovation.
Essential Requirements
• HPCSA registration as a Specialist Anaesthetist.
• 0–9 years of specialist experience (Grade 1: 0–5 years, Grade 2: 5–9 years).
• Clinical expertise in paediatric and neonatal anaesthesia.
• Strong decision-making skills under pressure.
• Ability to lead, teach, and inspire the next generation.
• Research and academic engagement (advantageous).
• Extra skills in craniofacial, neonatal, oncology, transplant, or regional anaesthesia are a BIG plus.
